38.1. A great part of daily routine is dealing with chores around the house, every member of a family usually does something. While doing a project on what household chores teenagers do in Zetland, I have found a pie chat containing some relevant data that I am going to comment on.
According to the data, the majority of the adolescents tidy their bedrooms, at 37%. Vacuuming as well as washing the dishes are also done by the teenagers quite often, 21% and 20% of the respondents have said about it. Meanwhile, putting bins out and cooking are least preferable.
It is worth mentioning that keeping their bedroom neat is five times as preferable for teenagers as cooking. To my mind, the adolescents do not like when their parents clean out their bedroom, so they prefer doing it by themselves.
One problem that can arise with doing household chores is difficulties with planning them promptly. Of course, nowadays there are plenty of modern appliances that make people’s lives easier. Nevertheless, time management is the biggest problem when it comes to doing household chores. The best solution to this problem is to use special applications that will remind to do chores around the house in time.

It is clear that the majority of the respondents think about throwing out old toys as well as socks with holes (26% and 22% respectively). Also, broken coffee mugs and old CDs seem to be got rid of. At the same time, only 14% of the surveyed would like to say goodbye to their old schoolbooks.
It is surprising that people prefer throwing out old toys rather than broken things. However, it does not matter that they are useless, some people give them to charity or to someone who needs them.
One problem that people can face getting rid of useless things is no information about things could be reused or recycled. The best solution to this problem is to create local centre posting information in order to people living nearby could know about all the opportunities in recycling field.
